Founded over a hundred years ago, the Boat of Garten golf course is a scenic but
demanding test of golf. The current course layout was designed by James Braid in
1930.
The club is often described as one of Scotland's most picturesque golf courses,
with views across to the Cairngorm mountains. The Strathspey Steam Railway runs
along its western boundary.
Boat of Garten golf course was cut from a silver birch forest and there is broom
and heather all around the course. You may even come across the occasional deer.
The course is not long by modern standards but is a challenge for all levels of
golfer. Boat of Garten is a great course to include in a golf tour in the north
of Scotland - both for the outstanding scenery and for the quality of the course.
