Royal Aberdeen

The Balgownie Links at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club
Length6530 yards

The Balgownie Links at Royal Aberdeen is the championship golf course at this traditional links setting. The Royal Aberdeen Golf Club was founded in 1780 and is the 6th oldest golf club in the world. The Balgownie Links is now considered to be one of the premier golf courses in Scotland.

The course layout is in an out and back formation, running along the shore of the North Sea. The wind can therefore play a big part in the challenge of the course.

The front nine holes of the Balgownie make their way through the dunes and are viewed by many as an example of the finest links golf anywhere in the world. The 8th hole, Ridge, a 147 yard par 3, is the course signature hole and the green is protected by no less than 10 bunkers.
